Emerge 2040 Steering Committee touts progress under Frantz’s leadership

ERIE, Pa. – Emerge 2040’s Steering Committee is congratulating Executive Director Anna Frantz, who on Friday was announced as the new executive director of Our West Bayfront.

As the first executive director of Emerge 2040, Frantz was instrumental in developing the unique public/private partnership that has built on the momentum of the Destination Erie planning process, Steering Committee members said.

“It is a credit to Anna’s dedication and hard work that we are beginning to see our Destination Erie plans becoming reality,” said Amanda Brown Sissem, chair of the Emerge 2040 Steering Committee. “Anna’s contributions to this organization have been invaluable, and she built a lasting structure that we know will continue to inspire organizations, support new collaborations and ultimately achieve the vibrant, thriving Erie region that we have envisioned.”

Emerge 2040, led by a steering committee representing local governments, businesses and nonprofit organizations, has helped to ensure that community attention and action have been focused on issues that arose during the planning process, including blight and housing quality; broadband internet access; accessible transportation; and improved trails. Emerge 2040 has also formedinterconnected partnerships with other comprehensive plans, such as the City of Erie’s Erie Refocused plan, to support the progress and growth of the entire region.
“We are taking this opportunity to think about our successes and strategies for the next phase of implementation of our region’s goals,” Brown Sissem said.
